The term ‘Specific Learning Difference’ (SpLD) refers to a neurological difference people have with particular aspects of learning. The most common SpLD’s are Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Dyscalculia, Dysgraphia, Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

Specific Learning Differences exist on a spectrum, various presentations of both strengths and difficulties will be present within each person. Common characteristics do exist for each Specific Learning Difference, but there will be a range of different patterns of effects for each individual. SpLD’s are independent of intellectual ability, socio-economic or language background.
