Psychological Therapy Services for Children and Young People

Our aim at The Rooms of Knutsford is to provide children and young people with the best psychological care possible, from highly specialised and experienced psychologists and therapists who are passionate about what they do. Watching your child or teenager struggling with difficult emotions is hard for any parent. It can be daunting to think about them needing psychological help. At The Rooms of Knutsford we do our utmost to help parents access the most appropriate type of help for their child, as easily and quickly as possible.

Difficulties We Can Help With
In addition to common mental health difficulties, such as anxiety, depression, anger and bereavement, our team also see children who have behavioural difficulties.

Children who have Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) are often seen at The Rooms of Knutsford where our multi-disciplinary team help support young people and their families with the difficulties associated with such disorders.

We are also able to provide assessments for these disorders – please see Assessment of ASD, ADHD, Neuro-Developmental Assessment for details of what this entails.

The Process
Providing psychological therapy and support to young people and their families often requires time with parents/carers alone at certain points to be able to gather significant historical and current information about the presenting difficulties. In many cases young people request to meet with therapists alone often including parents/carers towards the end of the session or after an agreed number of sessions. At The Rooms of Knutsford we aim to offer a flexible service that is sensitive to the needs of the family whilst ensuring the young persons confidentiality and needs are kept a priority. We would also welcome parents who simply wish to seek advice about managing any difficulties their children are having and can offer a series of consultations focused on this

We are providers for all of the health insurance companies.
